Chapter 2
Sleeping peacefully Kurama found himself awakened by a scream. Jumping to his feet Kurama looked around, trying to find the origin of the scream he looked around rapidly.
“SOMEONE HELP!” came a the scared voice again.
Kurama’s ears twitched as he darted off in the direction he heard the voice come from, running down the street as he turned into an ally.

“Please…..just stay back.” Came the female voice again.
“Look sweet heart we told ya before that if ya came on our turf it was gonna end badly for ya!” A man said as he slung a twisted looking sword over his shoulder.
“Yeah boss warned ya!” another man said as he grinned widly. The third gang member simply flicked a lighter as he lit up a smoke.
The girl found herself backed against a wall. “But….this…was…”
“Yeah yeah we heard it before the last time. It’s the quickest way to da airport. Well too bad hun now we’re gonna teach ya a lesson.” The leader said sinisterly as he began to move closer to the young girl.
As the hooligans began to pounce on her the girl prepared herself for the worst, but it never came. Instead what she heard was a loud crash. Opening her scared eyes she looked and saw that the leader and two gang members had been slammed clear through the brick wall in the ally.
Surprised she failed to notice that a boy with spikey black hair was now standing in front of her. As he grabbed her hand he uttered one word to her.
“Run.”

Kurama had no idea why he had felt the need to help the girl but he found himself running away with the strange red haired girl.
“Come back here you two brats!” came the voice of one of the thugs as they chased after the two young teens.
Ducking into an ally Kurama turned to the girl his yellow eyes looking into her own black eyes. “Get out of here I’ll handle these guys.” He told her as he turned hiding her in the alley.
“Wait. I can he-help.” She said timidly reaching for something strapped to her side.
Kurama put his hand on hers. “Don’t worry I can handle these jokers.”
The girls face turned red as Kurama went back into the main part of the alley. “My name is Ru-Ruby.” She said softly but Kurama was already out of earshot.

“Hey assholes I’m up here!” Kurama yelled down from the roof as the thugs looked up at him on top of the roof of the alley.
“Get dat punk!” the boss told the two other thugs.
“Right boss!” the thugs said as they jumped up on top of the roof without much effort.
Kurama smirked. “So you guys can use reiko huh?”
“Dats right punk you better say you’re sorry to the boss!” said the smaller thug as he brandished two small curved daggers.
Kurama sighed. These idiots were keeping him awake and preventing him from enjoying the peace and quiet. As the thugs closed in on him one of them said. “Get ready to die punk!” but Kurama simply ducked underneath their swings, yawning before vanishing in a flash, his golden eyes were the last things the thugs saw before they found themselves being sent flying.

“I wonder if he’s okay.” Ruby muttered to herself as she walked into the Izen Airport. Ruby couldn’t help but fiddle with the sword she kept strapped at her side that the boy had prevented her from drawing.
“Maybe we’re not ready.” She said her eyes almost tearing up as she stared at the sword wrapped at her side.
Her sobbing was interrupted as a loud crash rocked the airport. Rushing to the source Ruby discovered that the crash had been caused by two people crashing through the ceiling of the airport.

“Are we done here?” Kurama asked the thug as he stood on the thugs face, his shoe digging into the thugs forehead.
Scrambling the thug answered, “Yes! YES! FOR REIKO’S SAKE SOMEONE GET THIS PSYCHO KID OFF ME!”
“What’s going on here?” came the voice of some airport security officers, who had finally arrived on the scene.
“Ohhh so we’re at an airport….what town is this again?” Kurama asked the thug as he dug deeper into the thugs face.
“IGNIS! IGNIS!! HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT?!” the thug answered screaming from pain.
“Well you see I kinda tend to just wake up in places sometimes.” Kurama answered smirking embarrassed.
“Umm sir do you wanna get off that man’s face?” one of the guards asked.
“Oh sure I’ll let you take care of him.” Kurama said smiling as he lifted his foot and kicked the thug in the direction of the guards.
“Come on.” One of the guards said dragging the thug to his feet as they cuffed him and dragged him off.
Kurama then turned noticing the red-haired girl was there.
“Oh hey there.”
